They would have highly decorative and colorful spacesuits and spacecraft, with neon-circuitry tattoos to control such machinery that make them look like Native Americans and Pacific Islanders. Much like any "native" people in Western and Age of Sail fiction, the more "civilized" newcomers are throwing their weight around, thinking they know everything due to their smug "high ideals", and do not have the best intentions for those who already settled the "final frontier".Malcadonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03111796978336546944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8302487761596456689.post-35820785619052193692019-01-11T15:03:20.338-05:002019-01-11T15:03:20.338-05:00@Anne - It's a cruel world!@Anne - It's a cruel world!Treyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04647628467658839351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8302487761596456689.post-84425901626659566092019-01-11T14:53:39.874-05:002019-01-11T14:53:39.874-05:00@Jay Dugger - Don't make it a game of transhu...@Jay Dugger - Don't make it a game of transhuman post-apocalyptic conspiracy and horror. Eclipse Phase is hardly the only sci-fi rpg set in the solar system. GURPS Terradyne might be closer to the mark. I probably wouldn't feature transhumanism much as a theme (though elements of it might be present) but going fully into that could be more like Transhuman Space.Treyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04647628467658839351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8302487761596456689.post-62748527913927586612019-01-11T14:44:53.086-05:002019-01-11T14:44:53.086-05:00This is pretty awesome. This is pretty awesome.JBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03263662621289630246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8302487761596456689.post-79076869784473973312019-01-11T14:25:34.886-05:002019-01-11T14:25:34.886-05:00me: watching Wagon Train and Horatio Hornblower si...me: watching Wagon Train and Horatio Hornblower simultaneously on two tvs and two dvd players

trey: "spoiler: neither series featured journeys to other worlds"

me: tears both dvd players out of the wall and throws them out the window while cryingAnnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15493700749333105771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8302487761596456689.post-78323478464692096732019-01-11T13:25:07.220-05:002019-01-11T13:25:07.220-05:00How do you avoid turning the setting into Eclipse ...How do you avoid turning the setting into Eclipse Phase (q.v.)?Jay Duggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10181402451119462976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8302487761596456689.post-67823905044397327712019-01-11T12:43:13.098-05:002019-01-11T12:43:13.098-05:00@Michael - Yeah, it probably would not feel much l...@Michael - Yeah, it probably would not feel much like Star Trek as it evolved, but it could feel true to original concept of Star Trek and work with some similar themes. I feel like it wouldn't be very Star Trek, honestly, but if you could truly bring the feeling of exploration from Trek and apply it to just our little solar system, you would have made something pretty great.Michael Kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07814549625838944634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8302487761596456689.post-14093168441682310042019-01-11T09:50:19.188-05:002019-01-11T09:50:19.188-05:00I'd watch that!I'd watch that! The Angry Lurkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01227314379603418332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8302487761596456689.post-52879099000654832552019-01-11T09:39:51.648-05:002019-01-11T09:39:51.648-05:00I see you wisely avoided pairing a certain outer p...I see you wisely avoided pairing a certain outer planet with a certain race's homeworld.
