Weird Adventures is Here!

The wait is over!  Weird Adventures is now available in pdf form at RPGNow and Drivethrurpg (so choose your favorite portal).

It's 165 pages (black and white with 4 full color maps) featuring:
  • City Confidential--A guide to the 5 baronies, numerous neighborhood, and weird locales of the City.
  • A guide to the Strange New World beyond the City, including the mysterious jungles of Asciana, morbid and insurrection-torn Zingaro, the gambler-haven of Faro City, and much more.
  • Thirty new monsters from "Black Blizzard" para-elemental to "Zombie, Cuijatepecan."
  • Adventure seeds and a mini-crawl through the City's largest (and weirdest) park.
  • Art by old school stalwarts Johnathan Bingham, Chris Huth, and Stefan Poag, plus great work from comic artists Reno Maniquis and Adam Moore, among others.
For those of you pining for Weird Adventures in hardcopy, that's coming in the New Year.  They'll be a discount for the purchase of both the pdf and the print of demand versions.

Thanks to everyone for their support over the (longer than expected) time to do this project.  I hope it was worth the wait.

  5. Epic! If it's okay with you, I will hold off and wait to get my grubby mitts on a hard copy. I cannot wait! :)

    And you know I will have to run some Weird Adventures fan material in Loviatar to share the love. :)

  6. I can understand the waiting for the hardcopy. I had wanted to release them at the same time, but when the hardcopy prep was gonna take a little longer I decided to go ahead an put out the pdf to meet my 2011 goal.

    @Christian - That would be awesome! I'll probably want to run an ad with you in an upcoming issue, too.

  12. Awesome, downloading now. Thank you! Would love to see it in hard copy but the digital will do for now.

  13. @Jim - Thanks for your able proofreading which have made my hasty scrawls intelligible. :)

    @Booberry - Thanks, man. That's great to hear! Yeah, Reno did a nice job with the bathing beauty.

    @Bliss and @Mike - The wait shouldn't be too long.

  14. Congratulations! I'm broke right now (I'm having to hold off on Carcosa and Isle of the Unknown as well), but I'll be picking up a hardcopy in the New Year.

  15. @Jeremy - Thanks, and having to wait for your hard-earned dough in such august company doesn't make me feel bad at all. ;)

  16. Congrats! Will likely wait for the hard copy. But this is very exciting!

    When are we going to finally get together, given that we live all of an hour from each other?

  17. Yay! I am a hardcopy sort of guy, but I will probably crack before then because I have been waiting for this for quite some time. Congratulations, Trey, on getting this out there!

  18. Got it! Looks great, Trey!

    As a New Yorker, I'm really excited to get Into the City. You did a terrific job infusing humor and horror into this twisted version of our history!

    BTW, these monster stats - good with straight up Labyrinth Lord or will they need some adjusting?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Congrats I will go and scoot over and buy one.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @Jf - Thanks! The basic stats should be good to go for Labyrinth Lord. They're in sort of a "barebones sytle": HD, AC (both ascending and descending give), Attacks, and then an approximate fast/medium/slow relative speed scale. I wanted it to be easy to use in with any system, pretty much. Spells/spell-like effects do tend to directly reference the SRD versions, though.

    @CKutalik - Thanks, Chris.

  21. Congrats! Looking forward to spending some Xmas money on the hard-copy.

  22. @Nakia Pope - Thanks. Yeah, we definitely need to! I'll email you after the holidays here. Maybe we can get something together.

    @ancientvaults - Playing on your ability to delay gratification, huh? ;) Well, I can say I think both with be reasonably priced (for gaming pdfs) at the outset and discounted for those you buy both.

    @Michael - Thanks!

  23. Congratulations, Trey! The preview looks fantastic; it must feel great to have this done and out the door. I'm not a PDF guy, so I, too, will be holding out for the hard-copy.

  24. Congratulations! looking forward to print version!

  25. Much congrats to you for getting this done. Fantastic work.

  26. Congratulations from me too. I can guess it wasn't all plain sailing and it's natural these things throw up unexpected delays. It's here is the key, and to judge by the comments our appetites are well whetted. I haven't been prudent with my pennies lately, but I'll be digging some up. That's a lot of love for the hardcopy, but I'm not convinced I can wait that long.

  27. Didn't (and couldn't) wait.

    Very cool and well worth the wait.

  28. Hey Trey, you have got to be feeling good right now finally getting your baby out into the world. A whole hearted congratulations. I will get it tomorrow, but you are a tease for the print version. But I'll be getting that to. I hope Weird Adventures blows the top off of RPGNow.

  29. I'm looking forward to the hard copy.
    I'm the type that likes to hold it in my hands and see it on my shelf.
    It looks great.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Awesome. I wish I had a credit card.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Excellent! Congrats on getting this out!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Congrats, man! I have a huge amount of respect for what you have accomplished here. Weird Adventures is at the very top of my wish list, and I can't wait to play the game.

  33. @Sean, @Bill, @Nemo - No worries my bibliophile friends. Will have the hardcopy soon enough.

    @Happy Whisk, @Bard, @Porky - Thanks

    @Tim - No intentional double-dipping, I assure you. :)

    @Satyre - Excellent! I'm glad you like it.

    @Shane - I appreciate the kind words. I'm looking forward to your projects, too.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Pierce - I don't know, man. Credit cards cause a lot of trouble. ;)

  35. Everybody's already said it, but let me say it again... Congratulations! It's been a long wait but it's finally here!

    Booberry.. Glad your boss liked the bathing giant illustration. Hope you did, too. :)

  36. Just bought my copy today!

    To quote one of my favorite sketches from Mr. Show:

    "Kid...you got the goods."

    ReplyDelete
  37. Congrats! If it is as good as the preview I'll definitely be buying this. Only question is what edition: How bad is DriveThroughRPG/RPGnow's shipping to Canada? Am I going to wind up paying through the nose if I want this in print?

    ReplyDelete
  38. @Reno - Thanks! Couldn't have done it without you. :)

    @Justin - Thanks!

    Canageek - Thanks. I don't know about the shipping costs, unfortunately. Here's Rpgnow's FAQ which may have some answers.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Very very cool. I've a mind to wait until the hardcopy, but I suspect my enthusiasm I'll get the best of me and snatch up the PDF before Christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  40. So, if I order the PDF now, is there any way to get the discount on the hardcopy later?

    @Canageek: I've gotten Print on Demand from DrivethruRPG before. I can't remember details, but the shipping to Canada wasn't expensive and was fairly fast. Oddly, it was shipped from the UK.

    ReplyDelete
  41. @Unknown - Yeah, I'm going to give a discount on the hardcopy to those you bought the pdf.
