Now this is a neat collection of pics. As for the medusa, I watched that movie, and found I had to look at it as research to be able to get through it.
Nice Weirdworld...they're the primary inspiration for Elves in my "The World After" game.
They're a great non-Tolkien source, as is Elfquest. What's interesting is both have their roots in the same period D&D first came out and seem much closer to D&D elves.

@harald - I know what you mean. Though i did think the Medusa was really good.

@Harald - Yeah, I saw those. Some of them are definitely along the right lines.
@Herb - I think your absolutely right, but try telling that to the tall elf lovin' crowd. ;)
Hey! What's wrong with tall elves? Short elves are fairies. Nuff said.
They're too easy to confuse with Vulcans.
