Audience Participation: The Next Illustration
As I've shown hints of here, artists are diligently at work on material for the Strange Stars book. The only problem is, I can't decide on some of the species and cultures to have them illustrate!. So, I thought I'd see if you guys have any preferences. Here's the list of possibilities with links to refresh you memory:
Atozan - Keepers of the Great Library
Caliban - Vicious sophontophagists
Circean - Psychic witches
Kosmonik - Space-adapted travelers.
Minga - Slave race out to covertly conquer the galaxy
Phantasist - Dream-merchants.
Quicklings - Tiny, fast-living humanoids
Sisterhood of Morrgna - Cloned Amazons.
Virid - Photosynthetic humanoids from a sophont biosphere.
Zhmun - Wealthy invertebrates.
So are any of these guys worthy of illustration? If you have a preference, let me know in the comments.

While Minga and the Sisterhood of Marrgna are easy picks because you'll have more girly pictures, but my vote is going to the Atozan. Just because I think they are creepy cool.
And I don't see you passing up a chance at a girly pic anyways. :P
Quickling. I can never get too many humanoid bad guys.
Why not all of the above? Good visuals of alien races are important to a sci-fi space setting.
If there's only room for three of the above, I'd choose the Atozan, Minga, and Quicklings. They're the most interesting.
Thanks guys for your input!
@Tim - Heh, Actually, I was going to have a guy representative if I did the Minga.
@ninjas - Well, cost of the publication and what I have to pay artists are the prohibitive factors.
I vote for Sisterhood of Morrgna
but I'd also like to see the Zhmun
Depends on how many straight humanoids vs. odd- or non-humanoids you have illustrated already (I think the ideal would be a mix). My thinking is that priority should go to types with lots of potential for dramatic/dynamic/expressive images.
So basically if what you need are odd or non-humanoids, I'd go with these in top to bottom priority order:
Zhmun: amoeboids should provide the possibility of distinctly interesting poses
Caliban Ferox: their wrinkled, shriveled faces allow for lots of close-up expression
Minga: what's an RPG book without a little sex appeal?
If what you're short on is more "straight-human-looking" types, I'd go with either of these in no particular order:
Circean Witches: some sort of group ritual that could provide interesting and dynamic poses
Sisterhood of Morganna: combat poses have a lot of potential for visual dynamism
Oops, sorry, I put Minga in the wrong list.
I think the Kosmoniks would be great for a picture. Their entry mentions rune-enscribed ships - I'd love to see that visualized.
Thanks, guys!
These are all great, I like the Caliban in particular though. Have I mentioned I'm really looking forward to this!
